About this apartment rental

Stationskontor – Historic Holiday Apartment in Sinnerskog

Welcome to Stationskontor, a unique historic holiday apartment in Sinnerskog, located inside the former railway station in the heart of Småland. The building dates back to 1922 and has been lovingly restored, preserving the original character of the old station. Surrounded by forest and plenty of nature, you can enjoy a peaceful stay while still being within easy reach of many well-known attractions in Småland.

The holiday apartment offers approximately 45 m² of living space and accommodates up to 4 guests. It is particularly suitable for couples, small families or guests looking for accommodation with history and personal charm.

The separate bedroom features a double bed for 2 guests. A spacious wardrobe and a cosy reading corner with an armchair and reading lamp provide additional comfort.

In the combined living room and kitchen, an extendable daybed provides sleeping space for 1 to 2 additional guests. The kitchen is fully equipped for self-catering and includes a dishwasher, microwave, refrigerator with freezer compartment, toaster and various other kitchen appliances.

A small basic selection of everyday supplies such as washing-up liquid, rubbish bags, filter paper, vinegar, oil and spices is also provided.

The bathroom features a walk-in shower. A washing machine with integrated dryer, electric heating and a heated towel rail provide additional comfort, especially during longer stays.

Wi-Fi is included.

Everything has also been considered for cosy evenings. Wool blankets, hot-water bottles, heat cushions as well as a selection of board games and books are available during your stay.

A particular advantage is the fenced garden, which is especially practical for guests travelling with a dog. Various seating areas, a garden bed, barbecue, fire barrel as well as toys and play equipment invite you to spend plenty of time outdoors.

A shed also contains 3 bicycles as well as an inflatable kayak with life jackets. This allows you to explore the surrounding area not only on foot, but also by bicycle or on the water.

On the veranda, you can enjoy a peaceful breakfast in the morning, listen to the birds or end the day with views of the surrounding nature.

The owner also lives on the property and is happy to help with questions or provide tips about the region. Her two dogs also live on the property and contribute to the personal and welcoming atmosphere. At the same time, you naturally have your own area and plenty of privacy.

Stationskontor is conveniently located for discovering many different sides of Småland. Around Högsby, you will find numerous lakes, forests and nature trails that are ideal for hiking, cycling, swimming and fishing.

For a day trip to the Baltic Sea coast, Oskarshamn is a good choice. There you can visit the Döderhult Museum, walk through the harbour or explore the archipelago landscape.

Kalmar, with its well-known castle and historic old town, is also within easy reach. From there, the Öland Bridge takes you directly to the island of Öland, where the Himmelsberga open-air museum offers an insight into traditional rural life.

Families can also enjoy a day trip to Vimmerby and Astrid Lindgren’s World.

Guests interested in Sweden’s glassmaking tradition can visit the famous Kingdom of Crystal, with glassworks around Kosta, Orrefors and Målerås.

Nature lovers can take a day trip to Norra Kvill National Park or discover the impressive Skurugata gorge.

Moose parks, various swimming areas and the Emån River, with opportunities for canoeing, provide even more variety during your holiday.

Pets are welcome by prior arrangement. Bed linen and towels are already included, as is electricity consumption. Firewood can be purchased locally for an additional fee if required.

A refundable security deposit of €300 is required for the stay.

Stationskontor is a special accommodation for guests who want to combine historic charm, nature and a personal atmosphere. The former railway station from 1922, fenced garden, bicycles, kayak and central location for excursions to Oskarshamn, Kalmar and Vimmerby offer excellent conditions for varied and relaxing holiday days in Småland.
