Victoria Road Guesthouse

Location was perfect for us to walk into Belfast city (45 mins), short drive to some nice pubs and the room was spacious and clean and warm. Can use the kitchen which is nice as many other guesthouses turn off the kitchen stove. Blankets were warm and cosy.

The bathroom wasn’t cleaned the whole time we were there (three nights), and the bathroom is quite small and outdated. It’s hard to tell if anyone else is using the bathroom as they leave the light on and close the door. Maybe a sign to tell people to switch the light off after use would be helpful. I can feel the springs in the mattress so it wasn’t the most comfortable bed. For the light sleepers, the walls are pretty thin and you can hear people outside the room and windows quite easily

Nothing massive but if the hearing could go on at night I think it’d be a big improvement and maybe a TV in the room. That being said the price was more than fair and you get what you pay for

Accommodation and checking in was easy, Ryan communicated well. Good central location

Unfortunately, the accommodation did not live up to the photos or the reviews, and we were disappointed with our stay. The shared bathroom was extremely cramped, with the door only opening far enough to squeeze inside, making access to the toilet difficult. The bedroom was also very small, with no room for a chair, meaning the bed was the only place to sit. The mattress on the left side was very saggy, with noticeable wear to the springs, and the linen was old and in need of updating. For accommodation advertised to sleep up to five guests, having only one toilet in the single shared bathroom seems inadequate, particularly when multiple guests are staying. Overall, the accommodation did not meet our expectations based on the listing, and we feel the photos and reviews gave a more favourable impression than the reality.
