A thief or a scam
1. This accommodation requires guests to upload a selfie via a provided link, unlike other hotels.
If you do not agree to this excessive collection of personal information, this property is not recommended. Need to check whether this practice complies with legal requirements.
2. No elevator, so you need to carry all your suitcases up to the third floor.
3. The house was dirty and covered in dust. We couldn’t believe that a cleaner had been there.
4. Water leak. Difficult to take shower.
The shower head is detached and had to be assembled by myself. It was not able to properly secured, causing water to leak along the cable underneath, and as a result, the water flow was inadequate, making it difficult to take a proper shower.
5. The hotel owner fought with the previous guest. (I assume there must be reasons behind this, likely because the host has had many conflicts with previous guests.)
6. The host's behavior was mocking, sarcastic, and dismissive.
7. So, we couldn't get proper sleep with my parents in the house that had been trashed by the previous guest.
8. There was no compensation for the unfit condition of the house.
In principle, the customer paid for the accommodation on the premise that it would provide a proper and acceptable space. However, the house was not in a proper condition.
9. The owner told us at midnight to leave the property and find alternative accommodation as compensation, but this was far too late for my elderly parents.
The accommodation should have inspected the property while cleaning between guests, identified any issues, and offered the next guest a cancellation and refund before arrival.
(We had informed them around 1 PM that we would be arriving at 11 PM.)
10. They only offered about a 15% refund and said they'd give more if we left a review.
We booked for two nights but stayed only one night and left at 9 AM the next morning.
