Hiding spot

We loved our stay here. The owners / staff were very friendly and let us check in early. We lover our room's view - this was the best - and we liked Jiufen. We went for a walk around the town upon our arrival from Beitou, via a train from Taipei with a quick stop-over in the Houtong Cat Village (as that's where our train from Taipei went, with a short taxi ride to Jiufen - I wouldn't bother to go there otherwise as a standalone trip). The Jiufen town was packed with tourists, as expected, but it was fun. I went for an early morning walk around the town the next day and it was a completely different experience, with nobody around and everything closed. I also went up the Keelung Mountain which was nice and easy / just a quick hike, with a nice view. We were able to coordinate our check out time with the nearby bus stop timetable and went back to Ruifang and caught a train to Jiaoxi, our next destination. Overall, I enjoyed our stay in Jiufen very much, even though it is extremely touristy. I think I liked it so much because of where we stayed - in the 'Hiding Spot'.

Amazing views from the room, the room decor and the vibe of the hotel. The owner was really nice, unfortunately we didn't get a chance to eat breakfast in the hotel. The balcony could be closed from the room, there were mosquito nets too.

The aircon is blowing directly on the bed no matter how you set the wing position. Week you have to climb ale the way up which could be a nuisance for some, for us the view was well worth it.
