A shame for the famous French hospitality!
The beautiful garden and the region.
We had a pretty disappointing experience... Apart from the large, beautiful garden, unfortunately nothing to praise:
1. No single day WIFI (although on Booking.com is clearly written!), giving the weather as a reason does not correspond to the truth (it rained only 2 days in the 2 weeks!);
2. At the beginning of our holidays it was only 8-9 degrees in the morning and evening, the house was quite chilly and uncomfortable and there was no heating and not a single blanket in the house! The duvets were very thin! We tried to contact the owner by phone ans SMS - to no avail! Then we contacted the "Holidu" company and with their help we got heating in the mornings and evenings.
3. The whole house equipment is very low quality, worst was the squeaky bed in the second bedroom and I mean extremely squeaky (the Holidu has a video with this horrible bed). I couldn't sleep normally with earplugs! The owner brought the hard living room sofa in the bedroom and changed the horror bed in the living room, that was his great solution! For 2 weeks I slept badly on the thin, hard sofa - this is definitely not part of a relaxing holiday! We couldn't sit in the living room for 2 weeks in a comfortable way: There was only the poor bed and a single armchair for two!
4. The bathroom smelled desgusting of faeces every day, we have been travelling through France for 10 years, but this time was too much - the stench was almost unbearable and impossible to tolerate with the windows closed!
For all these many inconveniences, we asked the owner if he would be accommodating to offer us a free day's holiday as a gesture of goodwill - he still hasn't replied to our SMS. We asked him the same through Holidu and only then did he reply negatively to the company - zero kindness and goodwill!
