This was a fantastic place to stay.
It was walking distance to the boat canal where the action was plus close to bus depot and a short tuk tuk to train station. People make a place and this family went out of their way for me. I arrived at 11pm after an 8 hour. Bus journey. No problems. They explained where to take the government cheaper boat trips, organised a great value kayak trip. Showed me the ocean beach and took me to the train station to organise my train ticket. They have this home close to the houseboats and town plus another home across from the beach with a view and cafes and restaurants close by . I will be back with a friend and will need to stay in both home.
Many many thanks. 10/10
I did not mention that it was great value plus a lovely swing on their balcony to relax on and watch the world go by.

Everything is exceptional about Philip's homestay.
The location is great. The house is located in a quiet neighborhood, yet close to everything.
The room was big and comfortable, and had all the amenities.
The owner is amazing and is a great human being. He was very friendly and gave a lot of recommendations for restaurants, activities, shops, etc and also helped with arranging transportation and activities. He made sure we were comfortable and had whatever we needed. He even woke up early due to us leaving before 6 am to help us with our luggage and make sure we did not need anything else !
This is THE homestay where you should stay during your next trip to Allepey !
