Do not recommend in its current state. The easiest way to explain staying at this home is that it’s like staying at an uncle’s or a friend’s who offered it up to you. If it was a home freely given then all the issues and bumps wouldn’t be an issue, but because of the fact we paid hundreds per night, they’re a big deal and need attention.
Also, the customer service for this rental is clearly AI and therefore unavailable. For example, we knew that we’d be arriving late in the evening as asked for a light to be left on for us since it’s far from town and a big house. The request was received with glossy AI understanding and said they’d “talk to the team” and get back to us. That never happened and we arrived to a dark home.
Regarding the other issues:
- Bring everything with you that you need (pick up groceries in Firestone) because the house is located off 5 miles of poorly maintained gravel road. Do NOT attempt this in the winter without the proper vehicle
- The coffee table was so unstable that it was downright dangerous and would’ve been removed if we had children
- None of the games/books/DVDs were organized - everything was thrown into cubbies
- The grill took effort to get started before abruptly running out of gas. And then it took 20 minutes just to open the new gas tank because it was so old and had been sitting on the porch. Also, it made a huge mess because the grill was so dirty and needed to be cleaned
- The main floor doesn’t seem to have heat - only an old electric fire stove which took several tries to get working because there were no clear instructions other than what’s on the stove itself. It wasn’t even clear if it was a working unit. Thankfully, we brought a heated blanket with us that we used the entire time.
