The Hotel Sonne-Post is located in the idyllic mountain village of Waldau—a traditional Black Forest family-run business brimming with charm, warmth, and coziness. Since 1870, Baden-style hospitality has been practiced here in a warm and family-like atmosphere. To ensure you feel completely at home during your vacation, our hotel rooms and vacation apartments are spacious, feature plenty of wood, and are comfortably equipped (including Wi-Fi and HD TV). From the balconies, you can enjoy a unique view of the mountain and valley landscape of the Upper Black Forest. With our new pool and sauna area (indoor pool, children’s pool, Finnish sauna, sauna complex, and infrared seats), we’d like to offer you an additional way to unwind. We’ve created a place for well-being and relaxation—even when the sun isn’t shining. Our regional cuisine is renowned far beyond the borders of the Upper Black Forest as excellent and authentic. Treat yourself to culinary delights in our restaurant and experience the diversity of Baden cuisine. Waldau is an ideal starting point for hikes and bike tours in the summer, as well as cross-country skiing (starting right at the hotel) and downhill skiing (ski lift and ski school in town) in the winter. Our Superior Double Room Apartments in the main building measure 36 square meters, are cozily furnished in a warm Black Forest style, and feature a spacious layout. They feature a visually separated living and sleeping area, as well as a balcony with a magnificent view of the mountain and valley landscape of the Upper Black Forest.
