BEWARE. UTTERLY UNACCEPTABLE. ACCOMMODATION DOES NOT MATCH LISTING
Nothing
The booking.com listing did not reflect what was presented to us.
The kitchen was a major issue. There were no sharp knives, chopping boards, vegetable peeler, toaster (as specifically noted in the listing), wooden spoons, ladles etc. There was barely enough cutlery, plates and glasses. We could not prepare meals, in fact we had no dinner that night. There is an oven, however, the control knobs kept falling off and there was no instructions how to use. There were no baking dishes and the like to bake or roast. There was no washing up liquid, tea towels, dishwasher tablets or the like. As it turned out the dishwasher did not work.
Wi-Fi: It took many messages back and forth to locate the network. But first we discovered the router was not plugged in. The network we found did not connect to the internet. The owner indicated the bad weather affected it in this way. But, we had connection via our mobile data.
Heating: controlled by the owner. Totally inadequate.
Bedding: one bed spread, not a duvet. We asked the owner if there was more bedding, she indicated that she would have to charge us Euro 15 each, but that wasn't going to happen that night. So, we were very cold in the bed overnight.
The kitchen bin had not been emptied.
The heater in the second bedroom was leaking water from the bleeder knob onto the floor. That was dangerous.
In response to our messages about the toaster, chopping board and bread knife she was adamant these items were in the apartment. They were definitely not. Our integrity was called into question.
The owner indicated to us several times that she was 'baffled' by our concerns. The impression we had was that this situation was normal. Having stayed in many similar accommodations it is clearly not. There was no empathy whatsoever from the owner.
All of our concerns have been communicated to the owner. We also indicated to her that we would be seeking a refund for the two nights we didn't stay.
