Aggressive and rude owner.

booked their mini-apartment for 5 nights. The host Guillermo requested we let him know about our arrival time (possibly between 22.30/23) and to text him before getting into town so he was going to be at the property for the keys and payment. We did, it was 22.00 when we told him we were 30mins away. We arrived at the property at 2230, he texted and said he was coming from the airport and was going to need 35-40mins to be there. The neighborhood is not nice, lots of aggressive stray dogs around the property, mountain of trash in corners, drunk men trying to talk to you, some questionable elements. We asked him why did he want us to message him ahead of time he was not going to be there and why not telling us before that he was going to need extra time, we would have waited by the station or somewhere else safer(we are two girls with 4 big luggage). He then said that if we didn’t want to wait we could have just cancel the reservation. We obviously couldn’t, where were we gonna go at 23 at night? He then showed up to the property. As I sense his attitude where not too friendly I told him I didn’t speak enough Spanish (I am learning but I can understand and talk basics) so we could use a translator. I just wanted to avoid any further discussions and get in the house asap. He then stops and aggressively said that we were in Chile so we had to speak Spanish. He rent this apartment on BOOKINGS.com, accepts tourists and US dollars but really enjoys begin racist to the people that rents his apartment. I told my friend, in English, that we should just leave as we were already inside his property, the door behind us was locked and he was becoming increasingly more aggressive. He then stops and demanded I translate what I said to my friend, or we wouldn’t go any further. I refused and demanded him to open the door immediately and let us out. We left after eleven o’clock at night and had to find our way out the garbage neighborhood and into another last minute hotel.

Nothing good about this man. Avoid this house. The only reason why this is not a 1 star is that it will be hidden otherwise.
