We spent 1 night at Grounder's River Cabin as a stop in Nanu Oya before catching the scenic train to Ella the following day. The property is situated in a beautiful landscape, next to a river and a tea plantation. The cabins are a bit on the funky side with raised beds and colored lights. To get to the cabins, you have to walk down a steep dirt path and cross the river. The bridge that was once there was damaged during the cyclone, and so a temporary bridge was constructed requiring guests to climb over a large boulder. It was a bit challenging, but all of us made it thanks to the owners' help in transporting our luggage. For those wanting a more unique, adventurous experience while staying in Nanu Oya, Grounder's is an ideal place. Our son thought it was very cool! But for those wanting a more traditional accommodation with easier access, another hotel or lodge would be better.

Everything was great, people were so kind. We have asked for basic necessities and they helped with providing everything and made us so comfortable. They were so welcoming!! Excellent staff and location was so good and refreshing!! Very safe for girls also!!
Nothing as such, it is in walkable distance from road but they helped to get our luggage to rooms so we dont need to carry it on the small walk, people who love to have a memorable and stay that is close to nature will definitely love this!!
