Great position and view of the harbour! The room is small, as shown in the pics,(for 2 people) but has everything you need.
Bedding was lovely and crisp and clean, kitchen was spotless, bathroom also very good, though small. Great supply of hot water.
We could hear some traffic and foot traffic noise but it was reasonable for a busy corner, and stopped in time for us to sleep fine. Other occupants might be noisier for some stays, but for us all neighbours were considerate. I had read another review saying the Chippie was next door and that did worry me, but we found businesses nearby quiet and the Chippie was a few doors away, so it was zero problem.
It is an old building, with the benefits and drawbacks of old buildings, (just as advertised.) To me that was charming and i felt less claustrophobic than i expected because doors and windows had small gaps for air, and elsewhere in a much bigger room i had found it breathless when the windows were closed, but here it was just right.
Overall we were pleasantly surprised by the lovely apartment! We walked to restaurants and explored the lovely Howth area on foot. The price was very reasonable for what you got. We can highly recommend this place. It is 100% as advertised.
I like being given a host's name, it just feels friendlier, (though i realize when you dont meet the host most times, they could be anyone!) When i asked for early access i was offered a few hours at a fairly high fee...in the end it didnt matter as the room was ready early and so were we, and we even got told we could go in early, (which we appreciated, but you can do once places are clean if the key code etc is passed on ahead anyway!)
Maybe because we are old, and our sight not the best, we struggled to open the key safe box. I felt better later when i saw a pair of young travelers struggle the same way! The numbers dial, not being press button, was a bit fiddly and then once you had that right it wasnt clear what you pulled down so i was just getting a bit annoyed when it opened. I accept this might be user error.

It was a great location and the room was lovely.
One of the chairs at the table was a bit wobbly and there wasn’t any space for our luggage so it just had to be on the floor and we had to step over it

"Really beautiful little hideaway in Howth, it was the perfect location right by my favorite restaurant King Sitric. The bed was so so comfortable & the room was spotless. I will definitely be staying ..."
