The appartment is verry spacious, has a huge living space, you can easily fit 6 people (3 bedrooms, 2 persons each). It has enough kitchen utensils for 6, well equipped. In centre city Herne, close to bakeries, cafés, restaurants. Limited private parking space in garden, that can be closed off with gate at night. Note there is a school opposite the appartment, but if you close the bedroom windows, noise is reduced so no problem.
The place was not clean upon arrival. Previous guest left a mess in kitchen oven and fridge, but that was not checked apparantly. After first night we noticed water in shower was not drained, due to stuff in reservoir blocking it (also not checked with cleaning?). Owner did respond quickly to solve the problems but that is not what you want. All and all disappointing: light switches everywhere had dirty hand marks on them, a lot of switches marked 'not working'. Light above sofa was not working, sofa not vacuumed properly. Garden and parking area are a bit overgrown. Overall not a high standard of maintenance, not German 'grundlichkeit'. Clean up and you can score the 9.6 review again!
