DO NOT STAY HERE

Honestly, all of the bad outweighed the only positive which was the location. But Kandern is so small any street is a good location.

This was the worst experience I have ever had with a booking.com rental. Stay away!!! This is worth a read if you are considering renting this property. I ended up leaving this apartment halfway through my stay because the host FAR overstepped my privacy. She entered the apartment multiple times without notice. One afternoon, the host messaged that we needed to talk when I got back to the property. I found her waiting for me and learned that she had entered the apartment to look around. She was upset and proceeded to walk me through the apartment and tell me that I needed to turn the heat off, unplug everything, and make sure to turn the lights off (rules she did not mention when she checked me in). I agreed and apologized for leaving lights on before (something she would not have known had she not entered the property without my permission). I followed all of her rules the next day and yet while I was out she messaged me again that “we are having conflict” because I was STILL using too much energy (despite diligently following all of the rules). She had entered the property again, moved my things, and turned off the hot water. She wanted me to stop using the bathroom that was advertised and use the bathroom in the OTHER rental property. I was not comfortable with that and packed up quickly to leave. She told me that she would report me to booking.com…. I have no words. Please note: This property is divided into two rental units by a couple of curtains. If you book the one bedroom option you have to leave the apartment and walk through a communal area (which is “private” because it is behind some curtains ????) but anyone with access to the property (i.e. the other apartment) has access to your bathroom. Furthermore, the bathroom is not heated and in November, after being told I couldn’t use the heat, was freezing. Terrible experience overall.

An excellent location right across from the bus station. A very quick and beautiful walk to many excellent restaurants and grocery stores. Easy walk to Black Forest Academy for those parents. Our host was so very friendly and helpful.

Might not be best for those who have trouble with stairs.

Zentral gelegene, sehr saubere und liebevoll eingerichtete Ferienwohnung

Super zentrale Lage. Sehr netter, unkomplizierter und gleichermaßen professioneller Kontakt. Wasser, Kaffe, W-Lan war alles vorhanden. Wenn einige Treppen kein Hindernis darstellen, ist das eine sehr gute Ferienwohnung. Wir waren nur für eine Nacht, kommen aber bestimmt wieder bei der nächsten Übernachtung in Kandern.

Super zentrale Lage. Sehr netter, unkomplizierter und gleichermaßen professioneller Kontakt. Wasser, Kaffe, W-Lan war alles vorhanden. Wenn einige Treppen kein Hindernis darstellen, ist das eine sehr gute Ferienwohnung. Wir waren nur für eine Nacht, kommen aber bestimmt wieder bei der nächsten Übernachtung in Kandern.
