About this house rental

Imagine stepping through the threshold of an ancient residence, a house steeped in history and culture, where every stone tells a story of its past. Le Corti di Bisanzio is exactly that: a magical place where you can take a journey back in time, amid centuries-old traditions and the architectural artistry typical of the Salento region.

Its 14th-century origins as a Byzantine reception hall are just the beginning of a fascinating journey through the centuries. Later transformed into a prestigious Jesuit School of Philosophy in the 17th century and then into an elegant Palace of Justice in the 18th century, this residence has witnessed a succession of eras and styles, leaving an indelible mark on its character. The recent restoration has skillfully preserved the original elements—such as the decorations and architectural structure—creating a harmonious blend of history and modern comforts. Every detail has been carefully curated to offer guests a unique experience: a journey back in time without sacrificing the comforts of the present.

Located in the picturesque village of Morciano di Leuca, just a few kilometers from the renowned “Maldives of Salento” beaches, Le Corti di Bisanzio spans two levels and features five bedrooms, perfect for comfortably accommodating up to 10 people. The spacious common areas, such as the living room and outdoor spaces, offer a convivial atmosphere, ideal for spending pleasant moments together.

The main entrance opens onto a charming foyer, with Leccese stone flooring and exposed brick walls that tell the story of this home. From here, your gaze is drawn to the first courtyard, while to the left lies the fully equipped kitchen, which leads to the dining room, flooded with light filtering in from the second courtyard. The first courtyard opens onto a unique treasure: a room with two ancient stone-carved basins, where you can immerse yourself in a sensory journey where time stands still, offering moments of pure relaxation and inner well-being. Also from the first courtyard, an elegant staircase leads to the two-level suite, which consists of a double bedroom with a stone bed on the lower level, and a bathroom with a shower, a kitchenette, and a private terrace on the upper level. Opposite it, a second staircase leads to the furnished terrace, where a pergola shades a dining table—ideal for al fresco dinners under the stars. Here, the view sweeps across the picturesque vistas of the village and opens onto the bright living room—a cozy space featuring a TV with a projector, a built-in bookshelf, and an antique 19th-century billiards table. The stone walls and wooden-beamed ceiling create a warm and inviting atmosphere. The second courtyard, with its stunning pool, is the beating heart of the property. Here, on hot summer days, you can take a dip in an oasis of coolness and relaxation. This courtyard also serves as the central hub for accessing the ground-floor bedrooms, which include two fully private double bedrooms and a third bedroom—accessible from the hallway with a half-bath that connects the two courtyards—comprising two adjoining rooms: one twin room and one double room with a round bed, ideal for families or couples with children. Each room features a private en-suite bathroom, a luxurious touch that ensures privacy and comfort.

The harmony of carefully selected colors and materials instills a sense of serenity and well-being in every space.
