Disappointing stay at the Bungalow
The bathrooms were updated but not completely cleaned.
Our family has visited UGA 5x in the last 12 months, and this is our first stay at this property. We had to request numerous times for the door code after signing the rental waiver agreement. We finally got the instructions a few hours before our scheduled access time of 4pm. We arrived on time and found trash in the front yard. Where there was grass on the yard, it was overgrown and not cut. Most of the back yard and sides of the home are muddy with overgrown weeds and over reaching branches that provided shade and kept the back of the home wet, which then attracted a lot of mosquitoes, so we could not enjoy/use the outside areas at all. The location is near a train track, which happens to have a train roll by nightly. On the home itself, The wood along the side of the home is rotted and you can put your finger through the wood where it was reachable and obvious to the higher areas (especially along the roof line). I had to kill 17 (yes 17) spiders on the front porch and sweep out all of the webs to get clear access to the front door (the owners can check the Ring camera footage for reference). I get that it's a wooded lot, but 17 on the front porch alone is ridiculous. What happened to the cleaners? Becareful of the first stair step up to the porch, as it is not level at all and might throw you off balance if you'renot expecting it. Upon entering, the smell of mothballs permeated the front living room area. The odor was so strong it was as if the cleaners had just opened a fresh bag and dumped them somewhere nearby (but we never saw the balls). While there was a bedroom (day bed with trundle bed) in the front of the home, we never used it because the smell was really too much for my kids. The online photos of this home are deceiving fantastic as the home has charm, but the old dirty/stained couch, the ripped/worn leather chair, water stained ceiling from a previous leaks somewhere and non-working TV also added to the uninviting feeling we...
