We turned up to find the property was unavailable with no suitable alternative offered!

We did not actually get to stay in the property as the booking was not honoured on arrival. Despite having communicated with the original property manager in the lead up to our stay and despite our funds being taken a week prior to arrival, the booking no longer existed. Apparently, the owner of the apartment had changed property managers and the existing bookings were lost. Neither the new nor previous property managers, nor the property owner were prepared to take responsibility or offer me a suitable alternative for the week we had booked and paid for in full. This appears to be a systematic problem with Booking.com accepting listings for individual, privately managed properties - there is no oversight or quality control. Beware of booking such properties. We were so looking forward to staying at this property. It was quite distressing to be left without a place to stay in the late afternoon on the day of our arrival and having to ring around to find new accommodation. I'm sure I would have given this property a five star rating if I had actually been able to stay there. However, this monumental stuff-up has left me very upset and disappointed in Booking.com and my faith in privately owned and managed Airbnb-type properties has been shattered.

The apartment was amazing! The views absolutely beautiful to wake up both days enjoying. The apartment is large and has everything to make our stay so comfortable. So convenient to everything we were there to enjoy. The beds are so comfortable. We will definitely be back!

There is nothing that we didn't enjoy, so I am really not sure what to say here.
