To the Customer Relations Team, Booking.com,
I am writing to lodge a formal and urgent complaint regarding a booking made through your platform, and to demand a full refund of Rs 12,500 paid for two nights' accommodation.
The property I booked bore no resemblance to what was advertised. Your listing showed a bright, well-appointed "honeymoon suite" complete with a spacious jacuzzi. What we arrived at was the opposite in every respect:
Structural and safety hazards: The building was in an unregistered, poorly maintained society with only one functioning lift, resulting in waits of up to 30 minutes just to access our floor.
Misrepresented space: The room itself was so small there was barely space to stand beside the bed, yet somehow fitted with a jacuzzi larger than the room could reasonably accommodate — a detail your photographs conveniently glamorized while hiding the reality of the space.
Basic disrepair: Doors did not close properly, and linens were visibly dirty.
A serious security failure: At 1 AM, a stranger entered our room because the door lock was non-functional. This is not a matter of discomfort — this was a genuine safety threat to my family, and entirely unacceptable for a paid, verified listing on your platform.
Given these conditions, we had no choice but to leave in the middle of the night and secure alternative accommodation at our own cost, forfeiting the second night's payment in the process.
I want to be direct: this listing should never have passed any verification standard your platform claims to enforce. Charging Rs 12,500 for what was, at best, a Rs 1,000-a-night property is not a pricing discrepancy — it is misrepresentation, and it put paying guests in a position of physical risk.
I am requesting the following, in writing, within 7 business days:
A full refund of the amount paid, including the forfeited second night.
