About this apartment rental
Pets are not allowed in this allergy-friendly apartment. Due to the apartment’s special features, the hosts ask that guests refrain from booking with small children.
A country house with the style and floor plan of a spacious farmhouse from the late 19th/early 20th century from the region, but with modern amenities such as floor and wall heating, triple-glazed windows, a heat pump, solar thermal systems, a photovoltaic system, and battery storage.
The hallway, kitchen, and bathroom are tiled, while the living room and bedroom have hardwood floors.
The controlled ventilation system keeps rooms cool in the summer without the annoying draft of an air conditioner. In winter, it eliminates the need to ventilate by opening windows.
The abundance of wood (windows, doors, floors), numerous kilims on the walls and floors, and a tiled stove create a particularly cozy atmosphere.
The vacation rental in the rural village of Sillersdorf is located in the historic Rupertiwinkel region, the northern part of the Berchtesgadener Land. From the house, you can take beautiful walks along the floodplains of the Sur River or into the Ainringer Moos. Also starting from the house, a dense network of bike paths and small country roads allows for numerous shorter or longer bike tours, such as to Abtsee and Laufen, to Lake Waging, to the Ainringer Moos, to the Schönramer Filz, upstream along the Saalach, or downstream along the Saalach and Salzach.
The historic city center of Salzburg, 12 km away, can also be reached in 45 minutes by bike exclusively on bike paths, or alternatively from the Freilassing train station (5 km away) by S-Bahn or by car.
The spa town of Bad Reichenhall can be reached by car or from the Freilassing train station via the S-Bahn in 25 minutes, Berchtesgaden in 50 minutes, Lake Königsee in 55 minutes, and the Salzach towns of Tittmoning and Burghausen in less than an hour. Prien am Chiemsee is a 45-minute drive away. From there, a boat takes you to the islands of Herrenchiemsee
Your hosts—nature lovers with a keen interest in culture who lived and worked on four continents for four decades before retiring—live on the upper floor and look forward to your visit.
