Loved the location, right near the top of Nob Hill and just around the corner from The Masonic where we were seeing the Danny Elfman concert on Saturday night (the reason for flying in for a long weekend). Very convenient, plus great restaurants in the neighborhood, and an easy walk down to the BART. Convenience store right across the street. We love the charm of the old SF Victorians over any slick modern hotels. So homey and cozy, with a gorgeous and friendly lobby, great old-school elevator, and a perfect, clean and comfortable room. Street noise wasn’t too bad with the windows closed, and the air conditioning was just right. A pleasant surprise was the beautifully updated bathroom with deep bronze tiles, pretty marble sink and fixtures, even a fancy toilet with heated seat and multi-function bidet! Tea and coffee available 24/7 in the lobby, plus always a few little snacks on the dining table there. Staff was friendly and eager to help with anything— there was nothing we needed to ask for, though, because everything we needed was already thoughtfully provided!

SO cute. Very clean Very friendly staff.
I wished they would've given us earplugs (that they have behind the counter) before losing a night sleep because of the noise. A helpful hint would be for them to just have them in the bedrooms already. That was the only downside.

Gorgeous decor of highest quality, very quiet rooms. Morning coffee/tea and snacks. Clerk who advised us how to get to the Masonic Hall, behind the Inn and up a steep hill, without the difficult hike. This one clerk, wish I had his name, was always helpful. The others....
Gorgeous bath and shower, but no rubber bath mat, so eldest guest could not shower. Clerk later provided an extra towel to set down, but that was not a safe substitute.
A Japanese toilet! Yea! But the button attachment did not work. Probably needed a battery change.
Paid extra for parking in the Masonic lot, to cover in-and-out usage. The provided card only worked once, so we had to pay by credit card some of the time. We got exits on Saturday after using the call-for-help button, but no one worked the parking lot on Sunday to open the gates and let us out.
Clerks were almost never at the desk. Usually post-it notes "back soon." No bell to call a clerk from the back room either.
