If you are considering renting from John Michael-E at Madrid Oceanfront Condominium, 427 E Miami Ave, PLEASE THINK TWICE.
There is no staff available at the condominium. The office doors were locked our entire week-long stay, with a note stating that the office was closed. There was essentially no one on-site to assist with any questions.
When we arrived, we waited one hour because our guest contact, John, did not return calls or provide us with the room # to access our rental.
We were not told that we needed to bring our own toiletries paper towels, garbage bags, etc. We also were not made aware that towels would not be replenished during our stay.
Another major issue was parking. We were not informed that there was no parking available at the property.
The most frustrating part, however, came after we checked out. We were contacted and told that the unit had been left in a condition requiring additional cleaning because there was sand in the shower, and that we would be responsible for an additional cleaning charge.
I was honestly baffled by this accusation. We are extremely clean and neat people, and we left the unit in excellent condition. The bed was made, all used towels were placed in a pile in the bathroom as instructed, all garbage was removed, dishes were put away, and the sink, bathroom, refrigerator, and freezer were left spotless.
This is a beachfront condominium. There is even a designated rinsing station for guests returning from the beach, which we used every single time. Of course, some sand can make its way into a shower when staying directly on the beach. Nothing in the instructions we received stated that absolutely no sand could be left in the shower.
