The property was a lovely as the photos. More amenities than we realised there were going to be, such as a washing machine, toaster and microwave.
Cleaver use of space, and so apartment did not feel small.
We would have liked to have a second pillow each, since the existing ones are quite flat for our liking.

Location for the Hyde Park gig was perfect, only a short 20 minutes walk with great pubs on the way.
Shower cubicle was blocked so couldn't get ready after each other for fear of flooding the bathroom. Owner was keen to get it sorted but we weren't in and he needed us to be. Otherwise the place was great.

I booked this property primarily because it looked decent, but the location was the most important factor. The property offered ease of arrival from Heathrow Airport, despite the need to drag suitcases for several long blocks from the Paddington station, as well as proximity to the Edgware Road tube station and a walkable distance to the Marylebone neighborhood.
Yes, you could hear people talking on the street (as someone else mentioned), but it was alright for us, as we came from NYC, where this is rather a normal life for us. We were apprehensive of there not being a chair, but there was a vanity-like table and a chair, which came in handy as we used it to leave out accessories and makeup items, etc. Otherwise we ate out the entire time. A tissue box was available. Iron was useful, though it was puzzling not to have the ironing board around. The wardrobe was big and useful. The hangers available were cheap, like the ones you get from the dry cleaners, so I wasn't certain if they were just left behind from the previous guests. Room insulation was okay. We didn't hear anyone in the next apt, expect for the time they were using showers or getting out of their apt.
Many cons, unfortunately, that I ran out of the space - so I will start them from this section hereafter.
The biggest thing for my husband was that it wasn't mentioned anywhere in the listing that this property was situated in a half-basement level, that you had to bring heavy luggage down the spiral staircase. Luckily we exercise regularly, but we couldn't imagine someone weak in their knees showing up to this situation uninformed. As another reviewer mentioned, there are flies. Knowing this, hosts could have taken measures to repel them, but no such care was seen. We just paid attention to close the first door outside before opening our apt's door in the hallway so that no more flies would enter our apt.
Additionally, we couldn't understand why the host would only leave us two extra toilet rolls (the cheapest, smallest kind) for the 7 nights booked. Perhaps okay for a male-only stay, but women do use toilet rolls. In the end, we had to purchase toilet rolls on our own dime. The same goes for kitchen papers. We are not used to the situation where we don't have kitchen towels to clean the counter or mess, that we ended up buying the roll ourselves as well. No trash bin or bag, either. Likewise, do not expect there to be toiletries. They did have some tiny sample-size shower gel/body lotion bottles, but again, not thoughtful for two adults' 7-night stay, so we purchased our own shampoo/conditioner/shower gel/body lotion locally. Understandably, this is not a fancy hotel, so I was planning to purchase shampoo/conditioner of my own anyway, but the size of the shower gel they left for us was like a joke.
The laundry machine was very hard to understand how each function differed as well. I wish the host would have left some simplified instructions behind (we've seen such at an Airbnb we stayed in in Budapest). Though, it was helpful to have one for use so that we could refresh the bath towels & mat (the cheapest kind that feels like sandpaper) every couple of nights. As someone mentioned in a previous review, the clothes would come out super wrinkly—again, we were uncertain if we were doing it wrong.
Furthermore, if you value your sleep quality, good luck—it was one of the cheapest mattresses I've slept on before, and I've traveled to many places around the world since I was a poor teenager. The shower stall not only doesn't drain well (the first night, we thought it was going to spill out flooding), but is also full of mold. This drove my husband nuts because he works in environmental inspections.
