Beautiful house and great stay, but several advertised amenities were unusable, was disappointing

The house itself was beautiful, clean, well maintained, and we genuinely enjoyed the stay overall. The property had a great atmosphere and the indoor areas were exactly what we were hoping for.

A few of the advertised amenities were unfortunately not usable during our stay. The pool was black/unmaintained and completely unswimmable, which was disappointing as we were really looking forward to using it. The pool table cues were all damaged and missing tips, so we couldn’t properly play pool either. The advertised tennis court also appeared very different to the listing photos, instead of a usable full-sized court, it was an overgrown grass area that wasn’t suitable for tennis. As a result, we didn’t get to use any of the additional amenities that were part of the reason we chose this property. We still had a good stay and the property itself was excellent, but we do think the listing should more accurately reflect the condition and usability of the amenities. A small partial refund or gesture of goodwill would be appreciated, although we mainly wanted to leave honest feedback for future guests.

Great place, incredibly spacious, comfiest bed I've slept on, fantastic overall

Great accommodation with lots of space and room for everyone to be as comfortable as possible. very accommodating to a last minute request of a late check out as well which was appreciated greatly by everyone!

Bummer the pool wasn't usable but they we're clear about this up front so there was no overall disappointment

Very nice owners but property just needs some extra care!

The owners are very nice and super helpful! Good neighbourhood and walking distance to shops and cafes

Unfortunately the tennis court was very overgrown when we stayed and the same with majority of the gardens, which is a shame as we were keen to use this. I think they should also make more obvious that the pool is not in use as we were also excited to use that too!

Great location and property- just didn’t cater to our group as advertised.

Lovely period home in quiet, leafy suburban street in Strathfield- short drive to Olympic Park, shops, railway station. Big yard for kids to run around and play tennis/ pickle ball. Unfortunately the pool is now out of action. Two wings to the house, so kids can be in one and adults in the other. Both wings have separate bathrooms.

The property advertised that it had sofa beds in each bedroom and in the lounge room (13 beds in total). We had 12 people who all needed seperate beds- no sharing. We made this clear to management and were reassured that they would cater for our group (school excursion). However, only one bedroom had a sofa bed and the sofas in the other rooms, including the lounge room, were just sofas. So, there were only 7 beds. We had to contact management and get them to drop off linen to make up beds on the sofas and then go to Kmart and pick up inflatable mattresses and sleeping bags, as they didn’t have enough linen to cater for the group. We chose a house so that we could self cater- the kitchen is large with lots of storage, however there were minimal cooking utensils- no spoon, spatula or strainer. The closest thing was a pair of salad servers. Plenty of plates, glasses and cutlery though. The alarm was a bit tricky to disarm and went off. When we contacted the manager, she just kept giving us the code, and then hung up on us. We tried again and again. Finally we were able to disarm it- likely that the press key pad was not working properly or out of sync. We would stay at this property again if they considered having beds that could be made up as a King or separated into two singles in each room- much more versatile- and stock the kitchen with some basic cooking utensils.
