Very poor. Not worth the money

It was near Basildon town center and railway station

Firstly the advertised "air conditioning" was actually a fan . Not what we are used to as air conditioning. Secondly ,"The Terrace", there is no terrace. It is a backyard filled with old cupboards and brick rubble. Not somewhere you would like to sit and spend an afternoon relaxing as described. Thirdly, the washing line was a rotating one and as my partner tried to hang out some Washing it fell on her. Fortunately she was not seriously injured. On a closer look I found out that it was not set in the concrete but balanced with a few bricks around the base. Very dangerous. Fourthly the "Smoking area" was an ashtray full of cigarette ends in the backyard. Fifth, we had no where to put the rubbish. .We did leave it in the backyard for a few hours but the mice and possibly rats ripped open the bag and scattered rubbish so we disposed of it ourselves. The owner did knock for his mail and informed us that through the back gate I would find a dumpster to dispose of it. The trip to dumpster was a little precarious as it meant traversing the rubble and some nettles. The furniture whilst functional was a mismatched bunch of items but ok for the purpose. The advertised "toiletries" if they were there we didn't see them. In the property's favor it did have some cleaning products. This property is extremely oversold and is not worth the money paid and I think we deserve a refund as this is not as advertised. I have photos to back this up

The decor was at a low standard and bedding was not adequate in large bedroom. The television did not work and the front door handle fell off.

It was clean and comfortable. Furnishings to a good standard. It was suitable for our short stay.

The TV did not fully work, but was not a major issue. There was no hot water, but used a kettle for washig up and it had an electric shower.

Decor needs lot of attention. Burns on carpets. Broken glass in back door dangerous. Very loud plumbing. If wanted to sit outside it was a total mess with old furniture. Lots of cleaning materials under sink which would cause concern if children around as was too accessible. Location was suitable and very quiet.
