**⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ An Unforgettable Experience in a Truly Special Place**
We have been fortunate enough to stay in many hotels around the world, but few have made us feel as welcome and cared for as this one. Set in an idyllic location overlooking a beautiful lake and surrounded by an old mango plantation, it is a place of peace, beauty, and authenticity.
What makes this hotel truly exceptional is its people. It is managed by women and staffed by an incredible team of women, all of whom go above and beyond to make every guest feel special. From housekeeping to the kitchen team, the restaurant staff, and the front desk, every single person greeted us with warmth, kindness, and genuine care. We have never experienced such dedication to anticipating and fulfilling guests' wishes.
The food was absolutely delicious, with every meal being a highlight of our stay. We were also touched by a wonderful surprise arranged for our wedding anniversary, a thoughtful gesture that made our celebration even more memorable.
The spa was outstanding, and the yoga classes were perfect for relaxing and reconnecting in such a serene environment.
A special mention must go to **Janani, Gihansa, Shivanti, and Saumya**. Their professionalism, friendliness, and attention to detail made a lasting impression on us and contributed immensely to this unforgettable experience.
We loved our stay so much that we have already decided to return in 2027, this time with our daughters so they can experience this little paradise too.

If you only visit 1 hotel in this area, make it Amba Yaalu. This is not only a stunning property, it’s a pioneering concept and pratice. The story of the founder is so interesting and poignant. Helping women, many from local communities, evolving their skills and mindsets, and therefore their Independence and futures. Giving them the confidence that society and self beliefs have stripped from them. Every aspect of the hotel, from reception, kitchen, maintenance and management is run seamlessly by women. I’m vegetarian and the chef created an off menu dinner to give me some variety, so fresh and delicious! Having soya milk was much appreciated. My room was spacious, clean and designed beautifully. With a bath tub out on the balcony, with a view of the trees, and sound of the birds. The pool and garden are divine. The spa and treatments are customised to you and heavenly. You can feel a calm, harmony and efficiency within the place. Every woman is friendly, approachable and professional with an impeccable level of customer service. Fantastic example of women doing what they do best, and exceeding that when given the space to do that. Everyone including male guests, are welcome, and that is what makes this a great concept.
1000% recommend, and would return to Sri Lanka just to stay at this particular property.

The location is nice near the lake, the pool is nice, the staff was helpful
After being in 4 different 5 star hotels in Sri Lanka, this hotel should not be ranked 5 stars, no more than 4 stars. The rooms maintenance is not good, the rooms are not clean enough, the food variety at breakfast and dinner is not great. It is priced as other 5 star hotels I have been but the value for money is lower.
