The initial impression of the apartment/condominium was impressive. It is a one bedroom apartment with the bedroom segregated by sliding doors. The bedroom and the living room both had their own air conditioning which was good. The kitchen was clean too.
Unfortunately, there were some gaps in the facilities which could have made the experience exceptional.
1. There were no toilet papers provided
2. The shower pressure was weak and there was no hot water to take a hot shower. We resorted to using a bucket and a dipper (timba at tabo) to shower
3. There were no instruction manuals to use the cooker/hob and the TV.
4. It is fairly standard now to have access to drinking water in b&b's in the Philippines. They offered none
5. The cupboard was bare of any basic items to use - coffee, tea, sugar, cooking oil, salt, soy sauce. Most condos I have stayed in the Philippines provide these as standard - even if they were left overs from other guests so long as they are still in date.
6. Their duvet/comforter didn't have any linen or sheet cover. Regretfully, ther duvet/comforter didn't smell freshly laundered which means the same duvet (without any linen) was used by guests before us and may contain...
I also noticed that the lounge air-conditioning unit leaked very badly. I reported this to the owner and it was not rectified by the time I left.
My experience was still good (hence the headline) and will still come back as the place is at the heart of Cebu City. Hopefully, these comments are read in the spirit in which they are shared.
