A beautiful cottage set right in the middle of the Burren. We were two couples on a walking weekend. The cottage is right on the Caher Valley walking route and the Black Head walking route. There was no need for us to drive anywhere to walk. The cottage was beautifully appointed and totally spotless. The hosts very kindly left us some home made brown bread, a litre of milk and orange juice aswell as the makings of a fire. There is just one pub and one shop in Fanore, they are not within walking distance of the property. We knew this, this did not bother us as we there to walk and enjoy the comfort of the cottage, which we did. We hope to return again.

Wonderful place in the middle of the Burren, very remote with an astonishing view. The house is great and has everything you need. Can only recommend it if you want to get away into nature - still close to all the tourist spots like the Cliffs of Moher, Galway etc.

We have just returned from staying at Heron House and we were all sad to leave but looking forward to making another booking!
The house is very impressive -the whole house is welcoming, well presented, thoughtfully laid out and furnished. The bedrooms are all a good size with comfortable beds and good quality bedding.
The kitchen is very spacious with everything you could need including a lovely BBQ.
The sitting room is cozy and filled with books and family friendly games to keep everyone occupied and happy on the rainy days but the beach is only a few minutes drive with beautiful scenery on the way.
The extra little touches like having tea, coffee, orange juice etc was a great help and very much appreciated.
The garden was safe so once the gate was closed we were able to let the children explore to their hearts content.
It would have been nice to check in a little earlier than 4pm and to stay a little longer than 10am but we understand it's probably not possible to get everything ready in time for guests.
