A good stay in Gaia

Good location in Gaia. About a six block walk to the Ponte Lois I bridge. Communication with the owner Deolinda was very good. She met us at a prescribed time on arrival day and showed us the digital means for accessing the building and the apartment. She showed us the garage space and made sure we got into the garage okay (very tight parking). Showed us the apartment and had coffee and a sweet bun available if we wanted it. A welcome gesture. The apartment is quite large with two bedrooms, living room, kitchen and bathroom. Kitchen is equipped with most items needed. Plenty of towels for the duration of the stay. Washing machine if needed. Had to communicate with Deolinda a couple days after moving in and she was very quick to respond and deal with a water issue that was not the fault of her unit. Appreciated her quick response. Deolinda’s son sent us an English version of things to do and places to visit in Porto and Gaia and that was very helpful.

Some dishes and pots were not cleaned properly from prior guest use. The inside of the microwave had dried food splattered inside. The “toaster” had caked on food particles from previous guest use. Although no fault of the owner, there is apartment construction going on both front and back of this building and so it can be noisy when the workers are working.
