Not My Cup of Tea

The location seemed nice and quiet.

I initially did not plan to leave a review, but I relied heavily on honest reviews when selecting accommodations, so I feel it is important to share my experience.Unfortunately, I would not recommend this property based on my experience. After a 16-hour day of travel, I arrived to find several cleanliness and pest-related concerns, including a dirty bathtub in the second bedroom, ants on the bed sheets, baby roaches on the shower floor in the master bathroom, and roach traps placed under sinks throughout the home.Due to these conditions, I chose not to stay at the property. I immediately contacted both the property manager and Booking.com to report my concerns. The following day, the property manager responded and described the issue as a common pest problem on the island. While I understand that pests can occasionally be an issue in tropical climates, I have previously lived in Hawaii and never experienced this kind of pest. The alternative accommodations that I was able to secure did not have these pests either. Initially, I asked for another property or a refund. They did accommodate and give me another unit, that was supposed to be an upgraded unit from the one I had. Separately, Booking.com refunded me for the night I did not stay. After learning of the refund, the property management company repeatedly contacted me requesting that I return the refunded amount, stating it was not a part of the agreement because they had offered an upgraded unit. I later clarified that I had never stayed at the original property and had to secure other accommodations. After that clarification, the requests for repayment stopped. I cannot comment on the quality of the replacement unit because I never stayed there. However, the condition of the original property upon arrival, combined with the time, inconvenience, and additional expense incurred in finding alternative lodging, left me with a very negative impression of this company.
