Stressful Experience

The room has a washing machine and a dryer

We arrived exhausted after getting off a flight and made our way to the venue. Check-in was agreed for 2:00 p.m., but we were kept waiting at the front counter for about 20 minutes because they did not have things organised. We were then told to leave for two hours while they cleaned our room. When we returned two hours later, the room still had not been cleaned. Instead of sorting out the problem, they asked us to wait another three hours outside on the footpath until the room was ready, no apology offered .. We had been travelling all day, had not had a shower, and were exhausted. Despite check-in being at 2:00 p.m., we did not finally get into our room and have a shower until 8:00 p.m.—more than six hours after the advertised check-in time. The following night, we wanted to rebook the room, but the situation became even worse. The guy offered no apology or discount for our first night’s drama. Instead, he tried to overcharge us. At that point, we realised he had actually overcharged us for the first night compared with the price advertised on Booking.com. We had a little disagreement that ended in a slight discount for the night. This only really countered the overcharge from the night before, so basically, we were paying what was advertised, while he acted as though he was doing us a favour after ripping us off. The whole experience was incredibly frustrating and completely unacceptable. After the delays, lack of organisation, being left waiting outside for hours, and the disagreement over the price, I would not stay here again or recommend this place if you just want to relax and not feel like you have to fight for the experience you paid for.
