Horrible Experience
Mangos over the property to eat.
Our experience with this property was appalling and demonstrates a complete lack of responsibility from both the host and Booking.com. Within less than eight hours of arriving, the situation became unlivable.
On the very first night, the power went out at the property while all neighboring houses still had electricity. We have timestamped video proof showing this. This was not an area-wide outage, but an issue specific to this property. With no power, no working air conditioning (two units were already broken prior to the outage), and no cell service in the area, we were left stranded on a mountain dirt path with no guard rails, no lights, and no safe way to leave at night.
We were forced to sleep outside next to the pool, surrounded by bees, in 30+ degree heat because the house was simply uninhabitable. This is not just an inconvenience—it is a health and safety violation. My grandmother, who requires an oxygen mask to sleep, was put at serious risk. The situation became so dire we had to contact emergency SOS services via satelite (112).
Despite this, the property did not offer relocation or adequate assistance. Instead, we were insultingly offered a refund for just one night out of two—as if we “stayed” in the property. In reality, we could not even use the beds or sleep inside the home. To then be charged €250 for a so-called cleaning fee on top of being billed for a night we could not use is shameful and shows how little regard this host and platform have for their guests.
Additionally, the property was infested with spiders and ants, which we documented with photos and video. Our food spoiled due to the outage, causing further financial loss, for which we will provide receipts and expect compensation.
