A property in disrepair, with a controlling and dishonest owner who repeatedly invaded our privacy — we cut our stay sho
I like that I made the decision to leave it right away.
Extremely stressful stay — safety, hygiene, and privacy concerns
We stayed here with our two children, grandparents, and our dog, and had to cut our holiday short due to serious issues with the property and the owner’s behaviour.
Check-in: We were kept waiting outside in extreme heat for 1.5 hours while the owner listed everything we “must not touch or break,” including furniture that was visibly falling apart (a chair broke simply from sitting on it).
Property condition: No AC in the living room, which is surrounded by glass with no ventilation. No AC remote was provided — the owner let herself in throughout the day and night to control it herself. The pool was visibly dirty and unusable. We found roughly ten cockroaches inside, and insecticide had been sprayed on the floors, which was especially concerning travelling with a dog and small children.
Privacy: The owner entered the property without notice or permission four separate times while our belongings were inside.
Communication: We received 40–50 messages during our roughly 15-hour stay, including repeated requests to cancel through Booking.com and pay her directly, and calls from a hidden number claiming to be the police regarding “stolen books.”
Overall: The property did not match its listing, felt unsafe, and was unsuitable for a family holiday. We would not recommend staying here.
