Denise was a fabulous host. She was incredibly flexible and accommodating, and we really enjoyed our short stay.

Overbooked/overcharged, questionable cleanliness, dangerous hole

We booked this accommodation last minute. There were a bunch of flight cancellations during a heavy busy travel period and it was one of the only listings near the airport. The listing mentioned a large tax but on top of the booking and taxes, there was also an additional $38 fee because the payment is via PayPal. After paying I was told there was another couple there but it wasn’t obvious that the host meant we were sharing the villa. The couple that was already there informed me that the host messaged them that another family of 4 was also coming. All 3 bookings were charged full price. Under the circumstances I would have been sharing at a discounted rate but none of this was communicated to me prior to booking and paying. I asked for a 2/3 refund and the response was it would put the host at a loss, the airport made her do it, and we would be refunded by the airlines so it was okay. The host organized dinner to be delivered which was helpful but there was no detailed receipt for the cost so we had no idea how much the food cost vs. how much the driver was receiving. The actual accommodation was fine except for 2 things. It is not well lit outside and there is a massive hole on the way to the house. It definitely was a safety hazard as we almost stepped in it. The room itself had a wig left in the bathroom. Missing something this visible makes me question how well the accommodation was cleaned.
