Apart Hotel Rugby -Self Check In-

The apartment had a reasonably well provided kitchenette with fridge, hotplate and combi microwave. Lighting was good. A desk was provided that enabled me to work in the evenings. Carolina, the host, was very attentive in sending emails and had the smart thermostats checked and working again when I asked why they were not working properly.

Some of the items were stored on very high shelves and I recommended a stool be provided. The heating was also controlled remotely and you had to regularly remember to reset the smart thermostats to put the heating on when you felt the room chill.

It was brilliant. Lovely, comfortable little spot. Loads of facilities if you needed and excellent value for money. Oh and the Seven Stars pub is a winner.

Nothing to fault it.

The facility itself is very nice, and the staff were extremely responsible and helpful. Since it was October and felt a bit cold, they promptly arranged for someone to come in and turn on the heater. They also generously allowed us to leave our luggage in the room early, as it was ready around noon.

However, I had an issue with the room selection. The property offers four types of "double rooms" at various price points. I specifically wanted to avoid the ground floor for safety reasons, so I carefully reviewed the photos and paid extra for a room whose ceiling structure and windows indicated an upper floor. Unfortunately, I was still assigned a ground-floor room right next to the main entrance. The street noise and the sound of the main door opening and closing as people came through woke me up multiple times during my stay. Next time I stay here, I will make sure to confirm directly with the property in advance to guarantee an upper-floor room.

Central location, reasonably priced, spotlessly clean, excellent communication from hosts.

A lot of noise. No curtains on one window. No air conditioning. Terrible WiFi.
