Dissapointing

The kitchen looks nice, recently refurbished probably, well equipped with all the latest gadgets, i.e. Air Fryer, Coffee machine for capsules (shame they don't tell you in advance which ones!) etc. The table though is a bit small. strictly 2 persons. The bathroom is OK but is off the kitchen not the bedroom. There is a private parking space, which is a good size, BUT if the main house is also occupied you need to be good at reversing out (or in as you wish) and down the drive as it's not possible to turn around because the turning space is full.

The word "lodge" is misleading, a "lodge" should consist of a bedroom, bathroom, sitting area and kitchen either open plan or otherwise. Lundy lodge is just a bedroom and separate kitchen. The only seating area is a 2 seater sofa in one corner of the bedroom, from where you can't see the TV properly unless the door to the kitchen is closed and you turn the TV as far as you can to view it, but it's still sideways to the sofa! There's only 1 small window in the bedroom so with the kitchen door closed there's no significant natural light. On arrival it felt damp and musty, we discovered a de-humidifier running in the bedroom which required emptying at least 3 times a day (24 hours), but the major issue was the heating, radiators and hot water. These are an extension of the main house and there is no control in the Lodge/annex, all you can do is turn each radiator on or off. If the controller in the main house has switched off there's no way to get heat. Same applies to hot water, we had 3 days when we could not get heating, needed for bathroom towel rail to dry towels, and the last 2 days without hot water. Fortunately the shower is electric so that was ok. The weather was not kind to us so we did need the heating on a couple of evenings and when it did work it was OK. There were other small niggles that didn't help, there are 2 nice wooden sun loungers, but no cushions. The BBQ that's visible is unusable and we would consider dangerous. The view from the bedroom window is an alley full of rubbish. And finally, way overpriced for what it is. We could have stayed at the King Arthur hotel a few miles away for the same price including breakfast!!

Big disappointment and waste of money

Location is good

Property generally unclean and unkempt. Outdoor area messy with brambles overgrowing seats. No lock on bathroom door. Surfaces dirty, dead flies on window silks and squashed on wall. Kitchen mat smelled strongly of cst urine. Raised complaint (including pictures of problems)with property company but after 3 weeks no real reply. This service and property are unacceptable. Left a day early as whole place felt and smelled nasty.

There were dead and alive bugs in the property - i was disgusted to leave my luggage open and to sleep calmly after having seen them around.

Lovely location friendly and helpful staff.

It would have been useful to have a few more basics in the kitchen, grater, frying pan with lid. The fancy coffee machine and huge airfryer were more than we needed. Central heating was controlled by neighbouring property and only worked when we shut down the radiators next door. We were expecting a lounge area but there is only a bedroom, kitchen and bathroom. Brilliant tv with sky subscription but no pin so we could only watch llive tv. Most of this was not a problem for us but could be for others.
