Very disappointing stay and a misleading listing with poor maintenance
The location is great. Even though it's a bit of an uphill walk from Hongik University Station, it's still very convenient and makes a great base to explore Seoul.
Unfortunately, our stay did not meet our expectations. The apartment has several issues that should be addressed.
The lack of sound insulation was a major problem. We could hear everything from the neighboring apartment, as well as traffic, motorcycles, and people outside. The air conditioner was also extremely noisy, making it difficult to sleep.
Cleanliness and maintenance were disappointing. The bathroom sink was clogged, the washing machine leaked, the extractor hood was greasy, the stovetop and dishes were only in average condition, and the freezer was completely covered with ice, showing it had not been cleaned for a long time. The shower head also leaked during use.
The apartment is advertised for six guests but only has two chairs. We were three people and received only three small hand towels, with no bath towels. There was no kitchen towel, no trash bin, and many essential kitchen utensils were missing.
The bathroom window opens directly to the outside without proper glazing, causing a lack of privacy and allowing mosquitoes inside. The balcony was not accessible.
The listing advertises a TV, but there wasn't one. There is very little space between the beds, not enough power outlets near them, and no wardrobe in either bedroom, so we had to keep our belongings in our suitcases throughout the stay.
Finally, the listing photos are clearly taken with a wide-angle lens, making the apartment appear much larger than it actually is. No basic cleaning equipment (broom, mop, or squeegee) was provided, making it impossible to clean the apartment properly before checkout.
Overall, the apartment requires significant maintenance, better equipment, and a more accurate listing. I would not recommend staying here in its current condition.
