Learn from my mistake: Avoid this place!
Reasonably close to Curtin Universty but you still need to get a bus and walk for a bit.
This is a poorly converted lean-to on the back of a family's home. The walls are thin and separated by one door with a gap underneath. The family have a young child and the kitchen / dining must be on the adjoining wall. The noise was so loud I could clearly hear their discussions over dinner - I almost felt as if I was having dinner with them - it was loud enough that I learned the names of the family members. I had difficulty sleeping throughout the night as the plumbing hammered loudly every time someone used the water.
The property does not feel private at all, nor would I describe it as a studio apartment. It is the back of a family home which is locked off when people stay. There was a strong dog smell and the covering on the lounge / bed thing in the main area was stained brown and smelly, so i suspect the dog generally sleeps there. There was a dog poo in the dark entryway when I arrived. The price was comparable to decent hotels in the city but the room is less than half the size, poorly renovated, smelly, noisy and doesn't feel private, safe or quiet. Also - no desk for working, no usefully placed powerpoints, TV doesn't work, bed sheets not big enough for bed, no light in shower / toilet area. Outdoor lounges covered with dog hair covered blankets.
Once I realised staying at the property was going to lead to me having no sleep or relaxation for 3 nights whilst trying to work, I contacted booking.com to arrange a refund. Then the real fun started - the owner refused to provide a refund stating they, "can't control the neighbours" and that I should have read the description better. Ultimately, Booking.com customer care can't do anything meaningful in this situation to help - they will just take hours of your time, tell you they're helping but then do nothing at all, or even charge you extra money through their complete and utter incompetence.
