The house is cozy, well decorated and nicely equipped. It has a very charming rustic and antique look without looking worn down. It is pretty and spacious. There's no AC but the house was comfortably cool during the hot summer days. WiFi is good, very stable and fast enough for remote work. There was salt and other basics to cook the groceries I bought. Pans weren't new but looked good for cooking. There are mosquito nets so you can keep the airflow throughout the day without worrying about insects coming in. The views from the balcony are gorgeous.
The pool is big enough for swimming and was clean and well maintained. The owner even lent me inflatables to play in it. It was practically a private pool for most of the stay. I only met other guests on my last day during my week there in September.
There are stores, some places to eat, and hiking trails around the property. There is ample parking and a bus stop within walking distance. The little village is as safe as can be. If you like rustic villages, walking around town will be a total delight.
One of the rooms had a strong smell of dust which never totally went away and would've been a big problem if I had needed to sleep there. I was working from there and couldn't use it for more than a few hours. Some of the appliances are old, like the fridge which often won't close until you push it a second time, or the TV which has a line of dead pixels right in the middle. A little annoying but they worked overall.

Wendy’s Casita heeft alles voor een fijne vakantie: het is een ruim huis, rustig gelegen, zeer proper, een heerlijk terras met een prachtig uitzicht op de zonsopgang, een ruime parking en een host die heel dienstvaardig is en snel reageert. Kortom, een absolute aanrader!

As the property is self-catering, breakfast did not apply. We loved the privacy and the friendliness of the hostess. My dogs loved the garden. Most of all, we loved the fantastic views from the terraces. This is a delightful, old-fashioned, traditional house where you can really switch off and relax. Not pretentious but all your needs are met. A good Internet connection should you need it. An ideal spot to chill out and enjoy nature. Parking is right below your house and there is a fair sized supermarket in the nearby town of Càdiar which is about a 10 minute drive away. A pleasant, shaded walk to Àlcutar, which is also part of Bérchules. When the adjacent hotel is open, there is also a swimming pool in summer and a restaurant. Such wonderfully quiet nights and clear skies. We had booked for 3 nights but decided to stay on a extra night as we liked it so much. Thank you, Paula!
True, the property does need a little TLC on some fixtures, such as the window blinds. There could also be more varied dishes, glassware and above all, a salad bowl! One does not go on holiday to cook but on some evenings, it is pleasant to stay at home and enjoy a meal on the terrace. These are all issues which can easily be remedied and we do hope to return again next year for another break.
