"La Vescogna" is an old Italian mansion dating back to the 17th century and is an extraordinary example of a country estate located on the hill of the same name (400 m) in the upper administrative district of the town of Calco, in the heart of the lush Brianza region, 15 km from Lake Como. The house boasts a spectacular panoramic view over the valley all the way to the city of Milan, which is only 40 km away and easily accessible by car or train (the nearest train station is just 1.5 km away); Milan is famous for its luxury shopping, renowned museums and exhibitions, and vibrant nightlife.
The renowned towns of Bellagio, Varenna, Tremezzo, and Menaggio are easily accessible from the town of Lecco, located on the eastern shore of the lake, just 15 km from La Vescogna—either by driving along the lakeshore or by taking a ferry (“Navigazione Laghi”).
The villa’s prime location makes it easy to explore this part of Lombardy, Italy’s wealthiest region: in addition to its proximity to Lecco, a city situated on the shores of Lake Como, the villa is also close to other notable attractions, such as the beautiful historic center of Bergamo Alta; the city of Monza, with its famous Autodromo where the Formula 1 Grand Prix takes place every September; the prestigious Golf Club Milano with its 27-hole course and a number of other golf clubs such as Golf Club Lecco and Brianza Country Club, all easily reachable within an hour. La Vescogna is characterized by simple, austere shapes on its front facade, reminiscent of its past as a castle belonging to an Italian noble family (the Calchi family) in the 14th century, situated along the Adda River on the border between the Duchy of Milan and the Venetian Republic. On the other side, the house has a distinctly Baroque style and faces south, overlooking a typical Italian garden consisting of three different terraces, each with its own staircase, balcony, and marble decorations, not to mention the boxwood shaped into topiary and the prestigious trees characteristic of a “19th-century Romantic garden.” On the most extensively renovated but best-located side, just a few steps away from the stunning 25-meter-long pool, there is an old stable building that is now used as a clubhouse.
The part of the house available to guests features:

At the rear, there is a large, shaded terrace furnished and decorated to serve as both a relaxing and refreshing retreat during the hottest hours of the day and a cozy dining area during the long summer nights.
