Walk to the Goodspeed Opera House for a show, eat a meal at the Gelston House or borrow a 42B bike and ride a little further and grab a bite at Higher Grounds (they give pilots a discount!) Sign up for a ride with Goodspeed Seaplane, take out one of the house's kayaks to Chapman's Pond or just sit with a drink and watch the sun set.

The host was fabulous before and during the stay with communication and responsiveness. The home was beautifully appointed and well stocked with essential supplies. The view of the river is phenomenal providing a tranquil and relaxing environment. The airport on the other side was fun to watch the small planes take off and land (we would fly with any of the pilots we saw! very smooth takeoffs and landings). The Goodspeed opera house is basically just down the road to the house and is a stunning piece of architecture with broadway level performances. Cannot say enough about the views of the river from the house and deck, also the pathway to the river and small beach, again a tranquil and lovely retreat. Already planning when we can come again!

We absolutely loved our stay! As a family of four, this property was absolutely perfect for us.From the moment we booked, Ann was a wonderful host—friendly, responsive, thorough, and so easy to communicate with. She made everything effortless and was always available whenever we had a question.The property is even more charming in person. It was impeccably clean, beautifully maintained, and had everything we could have possibly needed. The kitchen was exceptionally well equipped, making it easy to prepare and enjoy meals together at the house.The location couldn’t have been better. Having access to the private beach was a true highlight and made our stay feel extra special. We took the kayaks out every single day, and it became one of our family’s favorite parts of the trip. We stayed over the Fourth of July weekend, and it was the perfect place to relax, unwind, and enjoy the beautiful surroundings.Another bonus was how close everything was. The charming town of Chester is only about a 12-minute drive away and is full of adorable little shops and wonderful restaurants. We especially loved Honeycone Craft Ice Cream—it was some of the best ice cream we’ve had!Everything about our stay exceeded our expectations. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience and would absolutely stay here again. Thank you, Ann, for sharing your wonderful home with our family!

An amazing stay...! We booked this place to see our son in a show at the Goodspeed Theater, but got so much more! Huge back yard right on the Connecticut River. Went kayaking a couple of times with equipment provided by the host. Tons of birds and even saw a few Bald Eagles! Front of the house overlooks the Goodspeed airport, which was awesome as a pilot in training to watch a bunch of take offs and landings. Kitchen is very well equipped and the sheets and towels were soft and smelled awesome! The back deck is great to sit out and watch the river and play one of the numerous games or read a book. Highly recommend!

Unique and beautiful spot! House was very clean and comfortable. The outdoor space is amazing. Ann was very responsive and answered all my questions before we arrived. Instructions for getting to the property and checking in were very clear. We can’t wait to come back!
