I have never been lied to like this by a host ever before

The interior was basic but sufficient.

The owner didn’t tell us that the entire complex was under complete construction. The owner should have not listed the property at all. We communicated plenty in advance and were never told. Even 2 hours prior to arrival when asking for parking instructions, the owner explained where to park just for us to find that the “parking spot” didn’t even exist. The courtyard where the parking used to be was all torn up and full of building materials. Tarps protecting the windows didn’t even allow us to look out the windows. Scaffolding everywhere. The balcony was full of building debris and absolutely not usable. When opening the windows it was in the high 80s F) all sort of building debris would fall into the flat. Construction workers started at 7 AM in front of the windows on the scaffolding, smoking cigarettes all day. And when confronting the owner, she wrote an apologetic text message, saying that the construction workers promised to be done with constructions by the time of our arrival. For anyone able to see the extent of the renovations, I would’ve seen that they weren’t even close to being halfway. And in the aftermath, reading reviews from September 2024 complaining about constructions, I’m pretty sure that they won’t be done for another 8 to 12 months at least. I have never been lied to in my life by a host like this before. And all I heard back from her was ‘ we are sorry, but we hope that you still have a nice vacation’. And none of those people really spoke German or English at all. I can’t believe the host is doing that to travelers. And all we got back from booking.com was a small amount of money in travel credits so please watch out when booking this property. Those people are full of deceit :(
