Diamonds Malindi

Having been blessed with experiences around the world, Diamonds Malindi provided one of the best holidays I have enjoyed. The grounds and scenery are beautiful, full of life and at the same time quiet and peaceful. The food was delicious at each and every meal. The variety of dishes was great from salads, soups, mains and dessert. What elevated Diamonds was the staff. A perfect 10 from everyone for our entire 7-day stay. A special thank you to John, Danson, Alex, Pina and Pauline for making each day fun. From yoga to volleyball to the evening shows and dancing and all the moments in between the Diamonds Big 5 became good friends.

Checking out

Excellent location, right next to the beach , clean and fresh

The bath tub had a leakage but upon informing the team it was fixed immediately. Check-in took a bit longer than what I expected . It’s the only thing I think needs improvement

The menu is repetitive...I also noticed subtle racism. Inspite of wearing the bracelet for meals, i was asked several times for my room no...none of the other non black customers were asked.

Train your staff to treat all customers equally. On the last day, i checked out and since I still had a few hours before my flight, I asked to leave my luggage at the front desk. When I came back to pick it up one of the front desk people ran after me to prove that I had checked out. I calmly responded by showing her the invoice. You think I would leave my luggage at the desk without checking out although it was tagged,

The food was good - breakfast, lunch dinner options.

The check-in was a really bad experience. I arrived at 2:30pm, my room wasn't available even though their check-in time is 2pm. I didn't get a room until 5 pm. They offered me a spa voucher but the spa doesn't allow children so I didn't use it. When I got to the room, there were no towels so couldn't even take a shower, the room had so many mosquitoes something that persisted for my entire stay. On the second day, the shower tap literally broke in my hand as I turned the shower on. Couldn't take a shower after that despite me reporting it. On one day, turndown service showed up at 9:32 pm (yeah!!!) For a hotel with really great grounds, the hosuekeeping was a disaster for me and I would not come back here!
