So - I booked this place based on a facebook recommendation when I needed a cheap spot at the last minute and couldn't find anything else available. I have to admit - when I arrived I thought I wasn't going to be able to deal with the sound - all the good things that had been proffered were true - location a 4 minute walk from Monastiraki square, view of the Acropolis and Ancient Agora site out the window, discount on breakfast at restaurant - but - how could no one have mentioned that the subway/trains go right by, about every 5-10 minutes, with just a one lane sidewalk between the restaurant and the tracks? I thought I would have to move as I had 4 days and couldn't imagine dealing with the train noise as well as the packed sidewalk with people going by at all hours!
I was soooo tired, I decided I would see how I slept and then decide - WELL! - I slept the best at this place of my whole month long travels - I don't know why but I fell in love with the place - I felt very safe - the street car sounds receded into background along with the voices of everyone talking - the murmur was comforting.
The woman running the hotel and the restaurant below was SO KIND and helpful! She quickly ran my heavy suitcase up the stairs - and when I had to leave very early in the morning - before anyone was at the restaurant - I was able to have help to store my suitcases down in the restaurant so I wouldn't have to wrestle them down by myself.
The bathroom was well appointed with excellent shower, etc. The restaurant food was very good taverna style offerings - it was always packed with folks who seemed like locals - I loved this! Also, the location is AMAZING and view was beautiful at any hour!!!!!
The only other thing that bothered me was the locks on the doors - it was a combination lock and the buttons made a loud chirping noise when you keyed each one in and then it would announce - "Unlocked" and then a few moments later "Locked" - so I knew when any of the other people in other rooms were back because I could hear the locks.
I wish there was a safe in the room.

Excellent location. Acropolis and Parhenon are in walking distance and so are multiple eateries
The noise from the road starting from early morning, but I understand that because of the location

Amazing location and staff were fantastic. We had all sorts of issues leading into our stay but the staff were great. I’d highly recommend this place.

So loud, you can hear people eating downstairs and the train that comes every 15 minutes
