Avoid!!! Bedbugs! No refund.

This is the worst experience in 20 years of travelling. This situation has been incredibly stressful and unnecessarily expensive. Avoid!

Don't ruin your holiday by staying here. I noticed one bite after the first night and a couple more after the second. I couldn't find any evidence in the apartment so I thought it was something outside. More bites appeared every morning and I got worried. I wanted to complain but without evidence I didn't think I'd be believed. After the 5th night, on Monday, I found a dead bedbug on the sitting room floor. I immediately notified the owner, sending photos of the bedbug and my many bites. Also a video of the location in the living room. The owner offered to refund the money for the next 4 nights I was due to stay. He refused a full refund because he never had a problem with them before. That he or the cleaning company has never seen them. This is irrelevant with hard evidence. Bedbugs are known to be hard to find. I argued for a full refund because I needed to replace my luggage, some clothes I'd worn in bed and launder others. I can't risk bringing them home. New accommodation for the next 4 nights was very expensive last minute. I contacted Booking to seek advice and help with new accommodation. They couldn't help with the accommodation but said they would email the landlord explaining my case and why I am requesting a full refund. As soon as they were notified the owner stopped replying to my texts. On Tuesday I asked for him to return the money for the 4 nights. At that stage I needed anything to help pay for the new accommodation. No reply. Yesterday, when I informed him I would leave an honest review today and again asking for a refund. He said I refused the 4 days offer, that Booking will determine the refund and there is nothing he can do. That he will respond to any negative comments I post. I never refused. Booking customer service confirmed they have received no reply from the owner, that the possibility of any refund (full or partial) still exists. The owner just needs to confirm. Avoid at all costs.

De locatie is geweldig, dichtbij het strand en restaurants en barretjes. Appartement is prima ingericht en het bed comfortabel.

Voor een appartement vond ik dat er erg weinig extra’s was. Normaal heb je wel wat dingen zoals olie, zout en pepper. Iets meer toiletpapier. Iets te weinig handdoeken voor 5 dagen. Alleen een fles water bij aankomst. Contact met de gene die de sleutel had was niet goed. We hebben een half uur voor de deur moeten wachten en werd niet even gecommuniceerd dat diegene te laat zou komen. De ramen waren erg vies, je kon amper naar buiten kijken. Er was ook niks om deze eventueel zelf te reinigen. Ik snap dat het lastig is om deze schoon te houden als het regent maar deze ramen waren al meer dan een paar dagen niet schoongemaakt. Verder was het binnen wel goed schoon. En om deze redenen vond ik de prijs kwaliteit niet goed. We hebben veel plekken gehuurd in Las Palmas en daar was de prijs-kwaliteit veel beter.

De locatie is geweldig, dichtbij het strand en restaurants en barretjes. Appartement is prima ingericht en het bed comfortabel.

Voor een appartement vond ik dat er erg weinig extra’s was. Normaal heb je wel wat dingen zoals olie, zout en pepper. Iets meer toiletpapier. Iets te weinig handdoeken voor 5 dagen. Alleen een fles water bij aankomst. Contact met de gene die de sleutel had was niet goed. We hebben een half uur voor de deur moeten wachten en werd niet even gecommuniceerd dat diegene te laat zou komen. De ramen waren erg vies, je kon amper naar buiten kijken. Er was ook niks om deze eventueel zelf te reinigen. Ik snap dat het lastig is om deze schoon te houden als het regent maar deze ramen waren al meer dan een paar dagen niet schoongemaakt. Verder was het binnen wel goed schoon. En om deze redenen vond ik de prijs kwaliteit niet goed. We hebben veel plekken gehuurd in Las Palmas en daar was de prijs-kwaliteit veel beter.
