The Space:

Desert Lumina is a new-construction home built for play and downtime in equal measure. Outside, there's a pickleball court, a hot tub, an 8-foot cowboy tub for warm months and two fire pits; inside, a game room with a pool table, Skee-Ball, air hockey and a couch with a TV keeps everyone entertained. A large chef's kitchen with accent mood lighting and an indoor fireplace anchor the main space, and two queen bedrooms, each with an ensuite and one with a private outdoor bathtub, make it a good fit for two couples or a small family. Loser of the Skee-Ball rematch does the dishes.

-Outdoor Amenities-

The pickleball court is ready for a match, and the hot tub is there for afterward. The 8-foot cowboy tub offers a cool dip in warm months; it is not an in-ground pool and is closed November through March. Two fire pits give you a choice of spots to gather after dark, and the primary bedroom has its own private outdoor bathtub. The property is not fully fenced.



-Living Area-

The game room is the heart of the house, with a pool table, Skee-Ball, air hockey and a couch with a TV for movie nights. An indoor electric fireplace keeps the main space cozy on cool evenings.



-Kitchen and Dining-

The large chef's kitchen has accent mood lighting and is fully equipped with a stove, oven, microwave and dishwasher, plus a drip coffee maker and a French press.



-Bedrooms and Bathrooms-

Desert Lumina has two bedrooms, each with a queen bed and an ensuite bathroom. The primary bedroom also has a private outdoor bathtub, and the second bedroom's bathroom is a Jack-and-Jill that also opens off the kitchen.



-Surrounding Area-

Joshua Tree Village, La Copine, the Integratron, Joshua Tree National Park, Pappy & Harriet's in Pioneertown and Palm Springs all make good outings from Desert Lumina.



Guest Access:

The entire house and property are yours to enjoy! Please note that a few supply closets stay locked to store rental supplies.



The Neighborhood:

Desert Lumina is in Joshua Tree, on dirt roads that are fine for low-riding cars, with cell phone coverage.

A personal vehicle is necessary to get around in this area - rideshare apps are not guaranteed.



The roads to Desert Lumina are dirt, but low-riding cars can make it. Four-wheel drive is not necessary.



Other Things to Note:

-Cowboy Tub-

The pool at Desert Lumina is an 8-foot cowboy tub, not an in-ground pool. The cowboy tub is a seasonal amenity and is drained and unavailable for guest use during the winter months (November through March) to protect the pipes from freezing and bursting.



-House-Specific Rules-

► Please keep music at a reasonable volume and turn it off by the start of quiet hours.

► Please avoid using the hot tub right after it has been serviced, while chemical levels are temporarily higher.

► Weddings and events are by inquiry only and are subject to permits and applicable law.



-Pool and Hot Tub Service-

The hot tub and cowboy tub are serviced Mondays and Thursdays, approximately between 9am and 4pm. Please note that these times are estimates and may change slightly due to our technician's busy schedule. He will not approach the house but will go directly through to the backyard.



-Pet Policy-

We welcome your dogs! There is a $100 per dog per stay fee, limit of 2 dogs maximum. Please note on your reservation how many dogs you are bringing. There is an unauthorized pet fee of $500. Please use the provided dog sheets before allowing your dogs on any furniture. Cats and other pets are not allowed.

-Wildlife & Safety-

The desert landscape is teeming with wildlife and natural beauty, offering a unique connection to nature, but it's important to be mindful of the creatures and plants that call this area home. Guests may encounter a variety of wildlife during their stay, and while direct encounters with dangerous animals like coyotes, snakes, scorpions, bobcats, mountain lions and other desert dwellers are rare, it is important to be aware of your surroundings and to keep a safe distance from these creatures when spotted. Additionally, the desert is dotted with sharp cacti and other spiky plants. For your safety, always supervise children, pets, ESAs, and service animals while outdoors. Dogs should remain on a leash at all times and be watched closely while outdoors, as they can wander into potentially unsafe situations with wildlife or plants. By booking this property, guests acknowledge the potential for wildlife encounters and assume responsibility for their safety and the safety of their group. By respecting the local environment and staying aware, you can fully enjoy the magic of the desert.



-Security Camera-

For your security, there is an exterior camera in front of the garage, which monitors vehicles and occupancy. There are no cameras inside the home or facing any private areas, including the hot tub, cowboy tub and outdoor bathtub areas.



-Cell Service-

Cell phone coverage is available at the property, though reception can vary by carrier.



-Damage Waiver Policy-

Each reservation requires either a refundable security deposit or a non-refundable damage waiver.
