Some of the best fishing in Louisiana is just minutes from your door. Enjoy easy access to Lake Calcasieu (Big Lake) for incredible inshore fishing, or head south for an offshore fishing adventure.
You'll have full access to our private waterfront pier and boat dock. The pier is shared only with our sister camp next door and may be used by guests staying there during your visit.
Bring the rods, drop a crab line, or simply sit outside and enjoy being on the water.

Visiting during duck season? Southwest Louisiana is home to world-class duck hunting, making The Swanderosa a great place for your hunting group to call home.
Looking for a change of pace? Golden Nugget Lake Charles is approximately 30 minutes away, where you can enjoy dining, entertainment, and casino gaming. The Golden Nugget also offers waterfront access, making it possible to incorporate a boat trip into your Lake Charles outing.

A limited supply of toilet paper and paper towels is provided to get you started.

From the beginning the host was in contact with us. Mr. David was very friendly and helpful. The house is so beautiful, it was very clean and spacious. The big windows provided a beautiful view, beautiful sunset and sunrise. We loved to watch the ships sail through the ship canal. The dock is a shared dock between the house next door. While we were there, they were nobody using it except us. That was our only concern, if they had another family next door how are we all going to be on the dock at the same time without being in each other way. But it worked out perfectly. Our family had an amazing time. We traveled with our 2 year old and 11 year old. Our 11 year old first time fishing and crabbing. We caught a bunch of crabs and fishes. We had fresh catch for dinner. Mr. David house is 100/100 stars. It provided everything you need when you’re there on vacation, a home away from home very comfortable. We absolutely loved it!! It was hard to leave , our son enjoyed fishing and our little one was enjoying the view, so we stayed an extra day. Great location, He even provided crab traps!! We made some great memories there and will definitely be back.
