This is a fantastic example of faded glory. It's a brilliant hotel, with great staff and all the facilities I wanted, as well as an excellent location for exploring Dumfries and Galloway.
If you're looking for a shiny modern finish that costs the earth then this isn't for you. But if you value service, atmosphere, friendly staff and excellent food I can highly recommend it.
