Great location and generally nice place to stay. It's a renovated old apartment, so some of the details seem a little bit hastily done (for example, rusty nails visible attaching modern mirror to wall in bathroom, real ceiling behind the facade ceiling has cobwebs and rust, etc.)

we stayed at libere laranjais on rua do almada for 7 nights. we stayed in the loft room. we loved the place, and we loved our time in porto.
the room is a beautifully appointed apartment in a recently renovated historic building. the building is located on a very central street near the historic centre of porto.
we found the location about perfect, with things to do in every direction from the front door, but not too much happening right outside the door. there is lively nightlife in the area, so nights were sometimes noisy. mostly it was manageable with the windows closed and the a/c unit humming. only one night did we actually need the earplugs provided by the hotel.
trindade metro station is 5 mins walk, and the historic sao bento is about the same if you care to venture further out. but everything you’ll need is within 20 mins walk. it’s a pretty tourist-centric zone, tons of shops and restaurants, but plenty of local flavour too.
the room was clean and the space was lovely. early check-in was a breeze (for about 17 euros). a door code is provided on check-in so you can come and go anytime. we saw housekeepers most mornings, a maintenance crew working on the roof one day, but no staff onsite most of the time. new towels, soap, sheets, etc. were available from the housekeepers. but you’ll have to make your own bed.
there was a tourist fee which was paid on check-in (about 47 euros) but i believe that applies to many, if not all, hotels in porto.
