Sir Angel’s Guesthouse started as a longtime Belizean family home, and it is even named after the patriarch, Angel.
Communication while booking was timely and accurate. Upon arrival, my booked ride from the airport was prompt, and the driver gave me a local tour en route to the Guesthouse!
I was warmly greeted at the guesthouse by the owner, and even introduced to a family member!
At the Guesthouse, I enjoyed being “in Belize”—- I was at a small, family-owned lodging for my first two days of a longer trip.
I was in the heart of Belize City, rather than at a generic large hotel chain or complex, or remote site away from the City.
My stay was like being with family. My room was spacious, lovingly decorated and well-appointed. It had everything I needed. Modest, and perfect for my type of travel: experiencing local life and culture.
The host personalizes the experience for each guest’s needs! I appreciated my time at Sir Angel’s so much that I booked my final night in Belize there as well!
If you are looking for a resort, this is not the place for you. If you want a taste of life in Belize City, this might be the place for you!

Sir Angel’s is conveniently located to many excellent bars and restaurants. It is also walking distance to the ferry. The room was clean, spacious and modern. The hosts were very helpful. As a woman traveling solo, I felt very safe. I would definitely stay here again.

Cold a/c and a hot water shower are perfect after hanging out in the city. The owner is nice and helpful.
