My husband and I were celebrating our 30 years married this month and decided to stay at this lovely hotel, Upon Angels in Lisbon, Portugal. We were pleasantly surprised at the size of the room and the balcony overlooking the pool which was in a courtyard with open top so the outdoor feel with indoor feel. The bed was super comfortable and the room and building was very clean. But what really made our trip was the hotel staff and specifically Gabriel who went above and beyond to ensure we had the trip of a lifetime! And it really was a trip of a lifetime!
We took day trips to Sintra and Porto ( two separate get your guide day trips). I would highly recommend looking into porto on your own though using public transportation as the day trip wasn’t our favourite. Gabriel has lots of great ideas so we asked about different restaurant suggestions and places to go and we were never disappointed by his recommendations. Gabriel, thank you for making our trip one of the best we have ever had! Definitely would return to Upon Angels.

Although the decor isn’t my style, the hotel was clean, the staff was excellent, the bed was comfy and the room was quiet.

We loved this hotel, the design is very unique and the staff were friendly. It was very clean too. The only very minor issues we would say was they could do with more sun loungers in the pool area, and cleaner could be topping up the coffee machine capsules in the room. But it was such a great stay overall- we saw complaints on older reviews about noise from other rooms, but we didn't experience that!
